How It All Started...
"A people without the knowledge of their history, origin and culture, is like a tree without roots." A famous quote proclaimed by the incomparable Marcus Garvey, who like many elders that came before, strived for the liberation for all children of the Diaspora. When ACAF was cultivated in 1969, not only did it encompass those same ideals and teachings, it manifested a brotherhood that was for he community, by the community. Fast forward 50 years later and our local collective, has expanded into a digital tribe, spanning from, the vibrant skyscrapers of Philadelphia to the sun-kissed shores of the Caribbean.
The beauty of black lies within the story that foretells it. Shea Butter doesn't just moisturize our skin, it also nourishes the soul. Artifacts don't simply appeal to the eye, they also embody the love derived from the melenated hands that crafted them. Black aestheic is our culture, our driving force. The underlying depth and meaning behind ACAF brand. It is how we preserve history while passing down self-knowledge to the next generation and above anything else, it is how we use our skin to tell stories and our souls to create art.
Roots are to run deep, legacy is to be learned, we say PEACE to our people as the incense burns!
